Companies House nearing the end of paper filing

From October 2008 Companies House will stop sending out pre-populated, paper shuttle annual returns. If you wish to continue filing your annual returns in paper form you will need to obtain blank documents and fill them in. This is a cost-saving move and is designed to encourage all companies to change to electronic filing. Those who already file their annual returns electronically will continue to receive pre-populated annual returns.

In an article in the April edition of ‘The Register', which is the Companies House magazine, Tom Smith the Director of Customer Delivery states:

‘Our ambitions to be a fully electronic registry are undiminished. For those customers who are not yet filing everything that they could file electronically, now is the time to change. Paper filing will not exist at all in a few years time and should not be anyone's product of choice in the meantime'.

To use the web filing service or to find out more, visit the web filing page of the Companies House website.

The seminar, The Role of a Company Secretary in the 21st Century, is an essential guide for all Company Secretaries. For a fee of £195 + VAT per person, you will learn all you need to know to carry out your duties and responsibilities and comply fully with UK company law. Delegates to this seminar also receive more than £200 worth of extra benefits free of charge.
